Roofer compensation
Thank you in advance for any advice.
I had a new roof installed last year which has had to be completely re done as thr work was faulty in several ways and letting in water. I had a roofing survey carried out so that I had evidence and have now submitted a claim to small claims court for the monies paid to him (having now had a new roof installed by a different roofer.)
Only now that he's received the contact from the court has he contacted me to offer repayment via monthly installments. If I accept his offer is there is simple template repayment agreement form I could use to ensure payment? How is best to ensure he honours the repayments agreed to?

You can't be sure he would honour an informal agreement. You would be better off carrying on with the small claims court case and then you may have to use bailliffs to collect the money.

If you accept installments, get a consent order from the court. That makes the payment plan legally binding. A simple piece of paper you both sign is not enough. If he misses a payment, you would have to start over.

A solicitor will set up a Tomlin Order which the court will rubber stamp.
