Lytham St Annes (for Blackpool)
Hi
Can anyone give me any insight to Lytham St Annes please, and decent hotels? Will def need parking & would prefer breakfast included (but not a deal breaker). Not looking for apartments / air bnb etc.
We are thinking of a 3/4 night, mid week break (to avoid stag & hen parties) before the kids break up for the summer. Have been advised not to stay in Blackpool itself, but we would want to spend a day or two there. Just the two of us.
I've googled the tram between Lytham St Annes & Blackpool but am getting conflicting answers as to whether it takes around an hour or 30 minutes.
I've been looking on Booking.com to get an idea - but having used it a lot in the distant past, nowadays there seems to be a bit of a question mark over it…
We did a similar trip a few years ago to Great Yarmouth. We stayed at the end furthest away from the main attractions so it was nice & quiet, and we enjoyed walking down to the other end twice a day - we were lucky with the weather. (So free cancellation is a bonus just in case there's a weather warning!)

The tram time is no surprise as it depends where you want to be in Blackpool. Its 30 minutes from Lytham to the Pleasure Beach and then another 20-25 minutes to cover the 2.5 miles to North Pier.

I have stayed a number of times at a lovely guest house in Blackpool called the 'Grosvenor View'. it is at the north end of Blackpool so in a quiet location. They do breakfast and an optional evening meal. They only have 3 rooms, so nice and quiet in the guest house as well. There is parking as well.

If you are looking before the school summer holidays be aware that Scottish schools finish in late June early July. At one time the north west was popular with southern Scotland residents for summer holidays because English children were still at school.
