Can someone help please ,

I moved out of my house yesterday 25th May , went to close my account I gave gas read which is fine , I have a prepayment non smart meter with Scottish power but they are saying my move out reads are high , they are saying I sent in a meter read on the 20th of April which never happened of 51140 and saying I had credit of £166.58 , my meter read on my end yesterday is 57192 . That’s a discrepancy of 6052 . I’m currently recovering from Breast cancer and this is stressing me out no end , I have no debt on my meter took photos and everything . What do I do

So Scottish Power have imagined a reading from 20th April which makes your 25th May reading look high? But if you are sure your 25th May reading is correct then there is nothing fundamentally to worry about, you just have to pay for the charge up to your final reading. If Scottish Power thinks it should be less then you would end up paying less - but that doesn't seem very likely.

That said, my electricity meter is quite low down and I find it quite easy to misread a 7 for a 1 because I don't quite see the top of the figure. So check your photos to make sure you did give the correct reading.
