Copy and paste the Meltof defence, no changes, dont overthink this early stage

Definitely leave the stories for your possible WS in several months time, where you can use the disabled driver angle and the Equality Act 2010 etc

Do I have to put in the accurate PCN costs on the defence template.

Where in @Meltof’s Defence do you see the need for that?

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Obviously you don't change the Beavis case law re that £85 PCN, if that's what you mean?

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks that is what I have now done.

But my point is, will this work for all?

In my example, at the beginning, I appealed my case and said I was the driver, but my POC does not name me as the driver.

You can leave all that detail for your future Witness Statement in a few months time

You can explain yourself from the drivers point of view when the time comes

This is just an early stage so just use the template

If you need to make any changes to the template to satisfy your need for detail, add the following to the end of paragraph 2

    and driver

Its your choice, so please make it and move on

It will work because the case will be discontinued by Xmas, regardless of facts.

    Hello,

I received a letter from the Court acknowledging my defence submission, and they said the claimant will review it and may be in touch. If they did not pursue it then the case would be not continued. Well, that's what I kind of remember.

I have not heard anything from the Court of the Claimant since some time.

I have now logged into my MCOL, and it has been updated with this.

    Case Stay Lifted on 28/07/2026

DQ sent to you on 28/07/2026

DQ filed by claimant on 28/07/2026

    What does that mean?

    Thanks

It means that they have posted out your N180 DQ document 2 days ago, so it will arrive soon

Regardless , study the 8 steps in the defence template thread in announcements, download your N180 DQ document from the government website, fill it in and email it to the DQ email address, following the 8 steps advice

Dont wait for the Letter or paperwork to arrive, personally I would have it done ASAP, within the next hour, then check your inbox and spam folders for their auto email response back, acknowledging receipt of your submission

    Hi Gr1pr,

I will get onto it asap.

You are right because our post is awful and I would rather get it to them in the fastest time.

    Thanks
