DCB Legal 50/50 Settlement

Hi All,

I’ve been following the advice in the stickies how to respond to DCB Legal’ letter before claim.

I requested 30 days breathing space whilst I sought debt advice. Whilst they haven’t specifically acknowledged that request, they have given me 30 days to consider whether I want to accept their clients offer of a 50/50 settlement before they proceed (£85). Needless to say, I will not be accepting such a kind proposal.

My question is, do DCB Legal often offer 50/50 settlement?

For context, I parked in Market Place, Burgess Hill (Sussex) for a quick trip to Waitrose. There’s a 15 minute grace period but being heavily pregnant I didn’t realise my waddling around took 18 minutes.

This happened at 6.27pm, and parking here used to be free after 6pm but at some point unbeknownst to me, it was changed.

However, they have just reverted to the original 6pm charging period I.e it is free to park after 6pm.
Waitrose also reimburse your parking if you spend over a certain amount, which I would have qualified for.

I’m wondering if they’re just hedging their bets for some kind of payment because grounds are shaky or do they always offer it?

DCB Legal will offer anything, right down to a fiver, if they think the defendant is a mug. If you let them waste their money on a county court claim and defend it, they will eventually discontinue the claim and that will be the end of the matter and you will not have paid a penny to them.

You just need to follow the advice and be patient.

Think about it …. if DCBL thought tey had a good case, why discount it ???

On this site alone shows how hundreds of these stupid claims from DCBL are discontinued and DCBL chicken out

Of course you don't pay and you now play the game with DCBL

    OPTIONS FOR DCBL

1: GET A COURT SPANKING whereby you can claim your costs

    2: DIDCONTONUE before court

Bank Park DCB Legal cases (if defended) are always discontinued before hearings. You can see some recent ones in the thread by @Umkomaas
