New lease issued but old lease not rescinded
A friend's purchase is held up over a problem I have not come across before. Apparently, a new lease was issued some time ago, but the previous lease was not cancelled. I'm not sure why this is such a problem, as it is obvious that the new lease was meant to replace the old one. Nevertheless, it has held everything up for months.
Any helpful advice I can pass on, please?

Yes let the solicitors handle it, that is what they are paid for.

They have been on this issue since January without getting anywhere unfortunately. If they were making progress, I wouldn't have asked.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Sounds like the solicitors are just not up to the task, sadly many solicitors setup house sales and house purchasing departments but it doesn't mean they are actualy any good at it.
A complaint can go a long way to get things back on track and questions answered.
