That sounds wonderful! Your holiday pots sound very sensible and only increase the enjoyment of the holiday by removing last minute money stress.

thank you everyone for your holiday good wishes. It was a fabulous week and whilst still warm was cooler than the mainland.
@Catscoffeecake - we were on Guernsey and the beautiful sandy beaches were almost deserted. It was like being posh n becks on our own private beach but only 1 minute walk from an ice cream kiosk 🏝️
A summary of June
3 out of 4 of our treats for family have been organised and paid for. The final one is proving tricky with dates but we are making progress.
£200 of odds n ends into ISA to replenish the family treats kitty for next year. Nearly at my next £200 target. Around £500 away from my other £2880 target now.
A good underspend on groceries but this was mostly because of our holiday but anyway I've scooped it into savings.
Regular savers and other pots funded to more or less what I wanted.
£2.56 underspend from our holiday 🤣. Ridiculously I've been grappling with what to do with this money. I think my brain works best with small amounts!
We've been to a great concert, had a wonderful holiday and seen various family members. I also made some progress with getting my dad to accept extra care. Also made progress with our seemingly interminable admin processes relating to "that" EU part of the family.
Happy with this month. Let's see what July brings.

Oh blimey, @Blackcats, I'd forgtten about them. Hope they are not up to tricks.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday. Any underspend is good!
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0 -
@foxgloves - this is the biggest and worst of their tricks. It's sad but there's no nice way back from this episode. However, we have a strong strategy and MrBC and I are working well together to make progress. Unfortunately Mr Covey's habit of highly effective people that suggests "think win win" ain't gonna happen here 🥴

Well of COURSE the fact that you have a new diary would explain why I haven't seen any posts recently!
Bookmarked now - you're not getting rid of me that easily! 😆

I’m sorry to hear the chancers have reared their heads again 😖 They don’t give up easily do they. Don’t sprinkle them with your pixie dust they don’t deserve it.
Apart from that thorn in the side all sounding good.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪0 -
Sounds like there’s a back story there 😂
