Issue with energy company charges

Eon does indeed use Kraken for their domestic customers. Not sure if the platform automatically emails the bills as a pdf (it may be optional at Eon's end). Then again, not everyone keeps copies of old emails.
I do, and filters are applied so that energy.com emails get saved to a different folder.

Am I reading correctly ? We now know that the (gas) meter was not "faulty". but perhaps a reading issue ?

From the records you have please give us the meters reads for 6 months before and after the "spike". Make sure you include the letters A , C or E.

Has the meter serial number changed in this period ? Does the meter have the letters ft3 or m3 on it. Do the same letters appear on your bill ?

Please read the meter today and perhaps a photo ?

Re the Smart can't be fitted. Age of the property has nothing to do with it - perhaps insufficient space in the meter box ? A cellar can prove problematic but mine has a cable connection to a transmitter on an outside wall.

eon has said it is faulty and report it to national gas but still nothing has happened since March 2026

What are they saying the fault is? We had a gas meter that was recorded wrongly on the BG system as imperial but was actually metric. Could that be the issue here?
