Why is Octopus going back on their "cheapest deal" name ?

I don't recall Octopus ever claiming to have the cheapest deals.

Certainly they were never as cheap as Neon Reef, Avro etc. (before those suppliers went bust) and since energy prices have stabilised we've seen Fuse and others reappear at the budget end of the market.

^ That's not a "cheapest deal" claim though. That's a claim that their SVT is cheaper than the Ofgem cap.

In this case the increase between the two quoted costs is mostly down to increased unit rates, not increased SC.

Yes - but to myself as a low user - the overall cost would be lower !
