On Monday I had new smart meters fitted by BG and they are sending data to BG, I can see my usage on the BG app.

However the IHD is displaying awaiting data please see system status.

I have it plugged in to a socket on the other side of the meters so the WIFI signal is shown as maximum so how long does it take to synchronise with the meters?

I was told 24 -72 hours by the fitter. and that has passed.

This is the IHD

maybe it can take a day or three but when mine was done it was all working by the time the fitter left (elec only)

It's probably still waiting to sync.

If it hasn't started giving data by Monday, complain to BG.

Try unplugging and plugging in again (power cycling it). This happened to mine, on install it was working, then stopped, after a few days it was working again.

It took quite a long time for mine to think Octopus rather than EoN was my supplier. Then again it took a month for Octopus to see my meter properly properly (and well after the IHD said Octopus).

Which reminds me. Time to disconnect and rebox it, until the next supplier switch time.

Try unplugging and plugging in again (power cycling it).

If you want to power cycle it, remove the batteries first. Unless they've changed the design, the back (where the stand is) slides off and you'll find three AAAs underneath it.

I have never heard of one that isnt working the same day , to then just start working, unless it had no signal.

When I first had smart meter fitted, the original IHD didnt work, after some time harasing my supplier who was Octopus, another appointment was made, and an engineer gave me a 2nd IHD and his phone number, told me he would come back later if wasnt working, but luckily did work not long after he left.

We are with British gas and had smart meters installed in 2024, I'm pretty sure it took about a week before the readings were displayed. Took about another week before the IHD went to sleep in the sideboard drawer. I just use the app.
