Nationwide Switch offer 21/5/26

In my experience it's a PayPal issue that won't affect your seitch. When they detect you've switched bank, they cancel the DD on their end and set up the new one on the new account. But importantly the original DD still gets switched across so it counts towards your switch incentive. It should still be visible on your Nationwide account. You might need to relink if you actually want to make use of it.

I just tried and it failed because my existing bank (a previously Virgin One, now RBS One Account) does not support the Current Account Switching Service. A bit dumb since I wanted a full joint switch and the old account is closing, but there's of course no way, in 2026 to deal with anything other than a CPU.

The RBS One is a bit of an odd one as if I recall correctly it's some sort of offset mortgage product rather than a current account. I'm not too surprised that the Current Account Switch Service doesn't support it.
