Leaking under basin

The flexible pipe under this basin is spurting water. I have zero plumbing skills so is this a diy job or had I better call a plumber?

Difficult to tell .. but the connection going into the wall looks like some sort of push fit. I think calling a plumber might be wise.

The photo's are a bit to blurred to definitely answer. It looks like there is PTFE tape on the join going into the wall, so I would guess that it is a screw fitting. What can't been seen is how the flexi pipe attaches to the tap(s). I would have expected to see the bottom of the tap and a screw fitting, it looks like the pipe goes though the bottom of the sink some how?

Looks like a JG Speedfit connector to me. They are really easy to replace. You need a spanner to disconnect it from the tap.

However, if you are really unsure about doing the job it's a quick job for a plumber.

How do you get the push fit end off?

Turn the water off and run the tap to release the pressure. Then pull the collet on the end back and pull off the fitting. There's probably a Utube demo online that will show it better.

The push fit end will not come off. I guess it's time to call a plumber 😭

The grey bit needs to be pushed inside, but seems to be difficult to access in this botched one-way installation.

You can get Speedfit removal tools which give a better grip on the collet.

Thankyou for all the advice. My son called round and got sick of hearing me swearing so he managed to prise it off and he's fitted a new one for me ❤️
