Solar Export tarriff makes my EDF standard account unuseable

Having solar panles and an export seg, Keeping control of my normal electric and gas tarriff is a night mare with EDF, as they seem to have dumped my export readings into my main accout.

This has caused me lots of problems, unable to change tarriffs on line, unable to book a smart metter install on line.

Then add in I live in a rural area, with next to no mobile phone signal. Its driving me crazy.

Does any one else have the same problem with EDF that has solar fitted.

Are any of the energy suppliers able to offer a seperate account for solar export, to prevent your main account being effected.

I'm not sure any supplier is going to give you a completely separate account for your SEG export payments if the rest of your energy is also with them as they are mostly not set up to make regular payments to you, preferring to offset the amount earned against the amount you owe for import…

I'm sorry but I don't quite follow how this is causing you problems. Could you give some more information about what exactly is happening?

I've got an expiry tariff with Octopus. They treat it as though you've got a second electricity meter, with its own readings but still as part of your energy account. It hasn't caused me any problems yet.
