What are the ways to protect my money?

Still stolen money, which isn't possible with a savings account. I would rather not have to deal with the refund process full stop. Current account sits at 0.00
DDs and SOs pay out, overdraft then cleared.
Debit card frozen for online and in person purchases.
Spending on credit card with cashback.
Funds earning interest in savings account, CC paid in full monthly.

That's your choice, and normally a sensible one; the only point I was making is that your money can't be stolen from your bank. Even the notion of a 'refund' process is inaccurate, as there is nothing to refund. It's more an adjustment of your ledger following the bank's loss.

No matter how you frame it, the stolen funds will be unavailable to you for a period of time. Might be a problem for someone needing to make an important payment. My point is, excess funds don’t need to be kept in a current account, a savings account is less likely to see fraudulent activity.

I'm petrified of my bank being hacked or something happening with my bank where I lose it all.
Paranoia will not serve you well. Understanding how banking works will.
