Argos Customer Services direct email address needed
I'm trying to get in touch with Argos Customer Services about an issue with some eGift Cards, but am finding it very difficult to get in touch with them. The online robo-chat says it can't help, and it is the same with the robo-phone too, as it doesn't give you the option to speak to a actual person. I found a Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/698766736639817) that claims to be Customer Services and gives a gmail address that you can use, but someone there has warned me that often the people that contact you via that group are a bit dodgy, so I'm a little wary of using it. (The use of a gmail address rather than their own domain seems a bit suspect for a start…)
The problem I have and want to get sorted is that I was given a load of Argos eGift Cards as a reward for doing some online surveys, but all of the cards - worth a total of £180 - are showing a balance of £0.00, despite never having been used. So, obviously, I want to know what's happened to my money…
So can anyone give me a reliable way of contacting them swiftly? I don't want to have to be messing around with sending letters via snail-mail and waiting ages for a reply, as I want to use the cards ASAP to buy some new equipment for my business (self-employed walking guide) so I can expand into a new market.

Have you had a word with the source of the giftcards?
Problem is that any issues with the giftcards (like having zero balance) would need to be addressed by the person who purchased the cards and wherever they purchased the cards from (which may well not be Argos).
Your grievance is with who/wherever you got the cards from, not Argos.
Agree with you about "Argos Customer Services" using a gmail account - sounds utter cods.

Argos website gives address as ‘help@argos.co.uk’

I second all of this. The problem is with whichever person or business supplied the gift cards. You have no consumer rights with Argos because you didn't purchase the gift cards from them.
Do not correspond with people on facebook purporting to represent Argos. You'll almost certainly end up being asked to spend money to solve your problem.

It's obviously just a scam page - set up six months ago, only contact details are a mobile number and a gmail address, the admins are some random Africans - c'mon, seriously?

Tried that, and it's now coming up on 48 hours with no response…

And what makes you think e-mail merits a less than 2 day response period?
As has previously been said, you are not the Consumer here and will need to go back to whoever supplied them to you.

Quite. No response is needed. They've either not got round to opening it yet, or they have and are ignoring the email because it doesn't apply to them.

Exactly this.
It's no wonder so many people get scammed when they think a Gmail address and random mobile number are 'a bit suspect' and not an immediate indication it's a fraudulent group. Madness0
