mine is that the FTSE 100 will end around 6700

4500 in the first/second quarter; followed by a recovery by the end of the year (6500/6700). Hopefully, my predictions might be worth more than the 'analysts' (who get paid to predict what does not come true :rotfl:BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? :shocked: OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

I'm optimistic about gold and emerging markets for next year, not so much for UK markets in general (or US for that matter, but I only have indirect investment in the US through my Invesco Perpectual Income/High Income units).
Of course, I'm only basing this on what I've read and am slightly streamlining my portfolio to match my thoughts, but all in all it's still only opinion!I am a Chartered Financial Planner

mine is that the FTSE 100 will end around 6700
Think it will go either up or down but unlikely to stay the same.
I'm bearish in the short term & have been for quite a while. Think that FTSE100 could drop to 5400 over next 6 months. I'm not planning to make any further investments until FTSE begins with a '5'.
Medium term ie 12-18 months, so long as property market doesn't plunge, I think it will regain 6500-7000.0 -
The market as whole will be highly volatile
The Stocks in the FTSE 100 might be the best sector of the UK market, Oil, Resources and maybe even Banks could be winning sectors. I see the FTSE 100 in the 6500/6700 area

Think it'll stay in the 6's, probably held up by overseas buyers (yet again...), 6700-6800 by year-end (6763 if you insist), but obviously depends on who drops in and out over the year.0
