Travel insurance when already in Europe?

We apparently dropped the ball and didn't get travel insurance sorted before leaving the UK. Are there any insurers that will cover us our 60 day trip, either a a single trip or as part of annual cover? We have cover for our campervan(insurance and breakdown cover), and our ghic cards.

Do you have any bank accounts that come with travel insurance as part of a package?

If so you may be covered (check whether they cover 60 days).

Any annual policy you might have does not need you to advice the company of the start of a holiday although most will have the term that your holiday must start and end in the UK.

It does require you to tell them if your house is empty for more than 30 days - possibly. Bear that in mind.

Does your house insurance cover items outside of the house?

If that's sorted it's just health left. Probably phoning so you can explain is going to be the quickest way to get cover. Bit pricey to do it that way but sometimes it's better to get the product than wait too late just for a few quid. As I found out recently.

    Happy holiday 🙂

There always used to be two companies that would insure people who were not in their home country at the time the policy was taken out: True Traveller and Nomads.

Alternatively, a cheap flight for a day-trip to Blighty, and use the airport wi-fi to get insured there.

World First used to provide cover for people already outside the UK, but it's many years since I checked that.
