I am/was a customer of Evolution Warranties after purchasing a 2nd hand car in July 2025 and was offered a “Reputable Warranty Company” as an extension to the dealers standard warranty. "Evolution warranties" has since liquidated and supposedly passed all policies onto “Evolution World Group” even though they have the exact same website, policy naming, phone number & more importantly company registration number on the website. The business name has been changed to “ClearCoverWarranties.com2” which appears to actually be a good and reputable warranty company that these people are aiming to besmirch with negative reviews associated with their Evolution group.

Please if anyone / you / you know recently bought a 2nd hand car and were sold an extended warranty cover with Evolution Warranties / Best Warranty UK / Clear Cover 2 (UK) Ltd or ClearCoverWarranties.com2 id advise you to reach out to another provider before submitting a claim that you expect them to cover. this will leave you out of pocket or your local garage chasing you for the payment this company wont send.

The phone number isn’t connected, the contact us on the website is in error, the emails go ignored & I cant find information online about who the appointed administrators are so we cant see a clear way forward.

There appears to be a web of connected companies, people and addresses link to the Evolution group.  I've experienced this business practice previously when a housing / Real estate management company I was renting from did the same approach to avoid any and all responsibility.

Since january you have not had warranty cover & the cost you paid or continue to pay for that cover is gone, there will be thousands of people with outstanding accepted claims like me who will likely not see a penny reimbursed for their approved repairs!

I don't know why people buy warranties for secondhand cars (unless they cover beyond 6 months), the CRA2015 covers an awful lot anyway and there is a lot of overlap between what the warranty says it covers, and the dealer's obligations in law. And there's no issues with repair only being up to a certain hourly rate, diagnostics not covered, other components not covered etc its all part of what the dealer is obligated to do.

Standard business practice. Just ask Mike Ashley. Went from Sports Direct, to a massive range of brands. All on the cheap.

Company goes bust, another company buys the customer details & anything else, but they do not buy the liabilities.

Surprised anyone gets a claim approved by these companies.

"Cheap used car warranty is bad at paying" - hold the front page.

Remember, this is no more or less than an insurance product.

They sell a promise to pay your repairs.
Their aim in doing so is to make a profit.

They take money in - your premium
They pay money out - tax, advertising, admin costs, staff costs, office costs… claims…

The profit is what's left over.

It's not hard from that to see that they're only going to make a profit if the average policy pays out FAR less than it costs.

    They're a mug's game.

And that's at the upper end of the market, with reputable providers… Not the onesy-twosy cheapies like this bunch.
