One Parking Solution - Fine for not displaying Disability Badge

My parents have recently received two Parking Charge Notices from One Parking Solutions for not displaying a Blue Badge on the dashboard. Both charges relate to the same parking location, but on two different days. The charges are for a registered Motorbility vehicle.

On one occasion, the badge may have accidentally fallen off the dashboard after leaving the car. On the second occasion, the stop was only for a few minutes and they may have simply forgotten to display it.

I submitted appeals for both charges over a month ago, but we still haven’t received any updates or responses. I tried replying to the email address that sent the automated appeal confirmation, but it turns out it’s an unmonitored inbox.

I’ve also tried calling their general phone number, but the automated message says they cannot discuss appeals over the phone.

My parents are pensioners and are becoming quite worried as they haven’t heard anything back and we’re unable to get in touch with anyone for an update.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with One Parking Solutions? Any advice on what we should do next or how we might be able to contact them would be really appreciated.

It's a speculative invoice from a scam company.

All appeals are rejected. Why would they turn down the cash? But these clowns seem more incompetent than most and don't bother replying (why reply when you can simply pass unpaid to a powerless debt collector who ups the charge to £170?)

You will receive junkmail from powerless debt collectors next.

If you parents are going to pay and/or become unnecessarily scared (and it really is just junkmail from companies spouting powers they don't have) I would suggest you tell them you were the driver and give your address so the junk can come to you.

But I suspect you outed the driver by falling for the fake appeals process?

The person named on the pcn appeals. Did you submit the appeals in their name or in your own name?

OPS say they reply to appeals in 28 days but if the wrong person appealed I doubt you'll get a reply.

I agree, its like a "wrong person answered " on The Chase !

Only the keeper or driver or a registered lawyer can deal with the pcn, preferably the person named on the pcn, the Registered Keeper

Ops are unlikely to reply to a stranger, they wont uphold appeals either, regardless of the age of the RK

The RK should ignore them and any future debt collectors letters

Come back to this thread if they receive an LBC or a Money Claim

I hope you appealed in the keeper's name? You can't sign things in your name 'on their behalf'. You are a stranger to the case.

Did you do two appeals (one per PCN) online on their website?

Why not follow it up with a formal complaint (see complaints procedure on the OPS website) also in the keeper's name, and saying the keeper will escalate this complaint to the IPC because the silence suggests that OPS were planning on pretending that they had rejected the appeals x 2 and pretending that they had offered to settle at £20, when no such response was in fact received.

I would end the complaint by saying that the keeper's address for service has changed to YOUR FULL ADDRESS (remember, your name goes nowhere. This tactic - giving an address of a more robust relative - is about protecting the elderly & vulnerable members of society from paying scams).

Then you will receive all letters at your home and can genuinely tell your parents that you have handled it and they will hear no more. And you can laugh at the £170 threatograms to your heart's content, per the threatogram pictures & advice in post 4 of the NEWBIES thread.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
