Lease Vehicle Who Pays
Out of curiosity if a fault develops on a personal lease car .Lets say Engine management light comes on .
Who is responsible for sorting the issue out and if any costs involved paying them?

Depends if it's covered by warranty and if you have a maintenance plan?

First try the cheap fix, get an OBD2 fault code reader, read the code, write it down. Clear code see if it comes back. £15 fix, maybe.

If it's a full-maintenance plan, then the financier.
If it's not, but the car is under warranty and it's a warranty issue, then the manufacturer.
If it's not, then you.0 -
The attached backs up what others have said

You are assuming that the OP has the skills to be able to do so. The obvious thing to do is take it to the garage (The OP only suggested the engine management light as an example)
Who pays? Depends if the vehicle warranty still applies and as for payment what does the leasing agreement say. If out of warranty and if lease agreement does not cover maintenance then you pay.

A common misconception is you have to inform the lease company, or go through them for repairs.
Nope…if it's leased it's almost certainly under the manufacturer's warranty and you just go straight to the local dealer.
They don't care how you financed the car, they bill the manufacturer the same hourly rate whatever.

Half baked question and OP hasn't been back. Assuming it is a new car then drive to the dealer and get them to have a look and fix if required.

Hmmmm.
Most lease cars tend to be from new and under manufacturers warranty.
I wouldnt be clearing codes down that could otherwise help the dealer diagnose the issue.
