Packaged bank account insurance query

I'm waiting on a formal diagnosis of a health condition, for which I'd had a previous scan many years ago and which I'd forgotten about. I'm asymptomatic, it was only spotted when I visited the GP about something else.

We have a Lloyds bank account including travel insurance. Obviously I'm not going to get cover for the recent issue until I can get a formal diagnosis, but do these banking insurance policies continue to offer cover for everything else excluding the condition, or am I looking at trying to find a completely new insurance (unlikely I know)?

You need to check the policy.

Some will not give any medical cover at all, but will cover loss of luggage etc

Sone policies will give medical cover excluding the undiagnosed condition.

The important thing is you must declare it.

Ring who ever is offering the travel policy. (Not Lloyds) to find out exactly is covered.

I've a packaged bank account with the coop. The application process was quite cumbersome. I phoned to be underwritten for health conditions, was sent a quote for an additional fee, with a warning that I would not be covered for the condition, and some named related conditions until the fee was paid.

There is a number to call with the coop and that takes you to a third-party company which does the underwriting on behalf of the insurer.

You need to read the policy documents and talk to them, as processes will vary depending on the company.

Have spoken to Lloyds underwriters and they have excluded the undiagnosed condition but will cover me for everything else.

You really need to talk direct with the travel insurer company - I doubt there is one scenario fits all.

    They will advise acordingly.

normally it would exclude the condition and related so depending on what the suspected condition is it can be fairly broad exclusion; similarly exclusions tend to be mirrored so if you have a suspected problem with one arm then the exclusion would apply to both arms

Sounds positive from the insurance company. However, I would be cautious, as there is a possibility that you might experience side effects from the undiagnosed condition. There have been examples of companies refusing to pay on the basis of a tenuous link between conditions.
