2 letters from DCBL - Next stage?

Hello all,

A few weeks ago I received a letter from DCBL - a debt collector - for a PCN dated back to 2023 at a Sainsburys car park and they want £140 from me. The letter says we're past the stage of appealing the charge and the next opportunity to do so is if the matter goes to court.

Two things to note here: the first is that until this letter from DCBL arrived, I had no knowledge of this PCN as Euro Car Parts have not sent me any letters at all, and I would have appealed it way back then if they had. The second is that my wife was driving the car that day and through her employer (a merchandising company), she gets free car parking for the duration of her time in store provided she signs in and inputs the VRN, which she did that day and has the evidence through her employer to show this.

This morning I received another letter from DCBL, this time with a "final reminder" header. I've not reached out to them at all and have no intention of paying the £140 because as far as I'm concerned it was issued incorrectly.

What is the next stage likely to be with DCBL? I'm assuming because they state that I currently can't appeal the parking charge there's little point in phoning them with the evidence I have and that I should just wait until an actual legal letter arrives?

Are you certain that its Euro Car Parks ? ( the client is on the debt collectors letters. )

Read post 4 of the newbies sticky thread in announcements, ignore DCBL, they cannot do anything other than send scary looking letters, they cannot take any action

Eventually they will pass it on to DCB LEGAL, then a possible Money Claim

100% sure it's Euro Car Parts - says their name in the top right of the letter with details of the PCN.

Every stage is already set out in the NEWBIES thread. Did you miss the pictures in post 4 of it, which is your stage?

Then DCB Legal = post 2 covers their stage. No need for any questions.

Then the Claim is defended using the Template Defence. Again, no thread needed!

Then - before they have to pay the hearing fee - DCB Legal will discontinue. How do we know that? Because it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME with Euro Car Parks claims.
