Emirates holiday
Hi, I have a holiday booked for September 2026 which due to the ongoing situation I no longer wish to go ahead with the holiday. Presently Emirates holidays are offering a change of date with no fees for those holidays after 1st June which i would do but would want to travel in September 2027 and the dates are not on sale yet and won't be until after my full balance is due. I've contacted them explaining this and asked if they could provide me with a credit note but have been told that isn't possible. Is this correct and has anyone else had the same situation.

At this stage, it's entirely discretionary for them to offer rebooking terms, i.e. it's not something that you have any sort of statutory right to, so you'll need to keep an eye on the situation closer to the time to see if you still have the option to rebook once the 2027 dates are available.

At this point you are asking for a change of mind variation to the holiday.
What do the booking terms say about such amendments?
Anything outside that is at the discretion of the airline.

Was it booked as an ABTA/ATOL protected package holiday with Emirates Holidays UK?
If so, their Ts and Cs will apply.0 -
Can you not go somewhere else on the specified dates?

It might all be over by September

I’m not sure this helps as I assume that any holiday destination with Emirates will entail flying into/out of Dubai (a second assumption being that the OP is based in the UK). Currently, the UK Govt is advising against all but essential travel to UAE, meaning that holiday insurance would presumably be worthless should something happen in or around Dubai, and I know I wouldn’t want to risk ending up in that position. If it is possible to get a refund on the holiday then that would be better but only the OP will know if that’s possible (again, just a guess). I realize that this post is filled with assumptions, presumptions and guesses but that might be where everyone is right now vis-a-vis the situation around the gulf states.

At present holiday companies seem to be making any decisions three or four weeks beforehand.
September is too far away to assess the situation. , although it is natural for people to want to make other arrangements as early as possible.
The fuel question could also affect the situation.
At present you are relying on a goodwill gesture from Emirates.

emirates holidays have been a joke during this situation, as they are selling package holidays in the uk, you have a right to a full refund if the FCDO advice is not to travel (even if emirates holidays decide they are still selling/operating holidays to those destinations).
I’m in the same situation but booked to travel early June, they are refusing point blank to enter into any discussion around cancelation unless I instigate the cancellation and suck up an 80-100% fee for doing this.
As I say, it is your right to have a full refund under these circumstances, but for some reason they are completely ignoring this. I can only think they will enter into a discussion nearer the date, however that leaves virtually no chance of getting your refund in time to rebook another holiday.
The phone line for customer services say they can’t help
The e mail for customer services do not reply
And the complaints process is to submit a form and they will get back to you (I’m still waiting for a reply after 30 days)

You only have the right not to travel as per FCDO advice based on the advice at the time the travel is meant to happen, not the advice a month in advance.
