I want to buy a car for my other half. Cashflow is a little bit tight until later in the year when I get some payouts from some shares I have. I was thinking of getting a credit card with 0% on purchases for 6 months but don't know how they work. Do you have to do something special when you make a purchase on one of these…

Get the credit card, request a money transfer to your current account, buy the car. Virgin Money/MBNA have 15 months at 0% (2.98% fee). This means you are buying at less than 2.98% a year - far better than Cargiant's £150 set up + 7% per year + £95 exit fee.
