THank you for the responses. I used this advisor for the pension element, which is currently valued at 90k. Its on the Scottish widows platform invested in legal and general multi index 5 fund

Both of those can be improved upon. Platform charges have continued to drop over recent years, and the L&G multi-index range was popular for a period in the past, but again funds from other fund houses have also dropped in costs, whereas L&G have not reduced in the same way. So those are things that can be discussed with your advisor if you go down that route.

Your cash ISA is obviously very tax efficient when it comes to gains and withdrawals. You could fill up your personal allowance with pension withdrawals and avoid tax on that too.

How you are invested is a separate issue and it sounds as if you should be doing some reading about fund and investing basics, although I would not be hasty in changing anything. Right now you have a lot of cash and an equity heavy growth and income fund so not the worst allocation to generate your desired 4%.

And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
