Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's an in-service day today so no children in. Yesterday was lovely, the upper classes were out on a trip and just the little ones in so playtime was a joy for a change. My colleague and I have shopping to do for school so will get the work done first and have a little jolly out!
Well done on checking your receipts Remmie, something I don't do often enough.
Glad your meeting went well Mehefin.
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend dp1.
DW has just finished doing its thing so will go for a shower and head off to work.
Take care. XX

Morning GERS and all to follow. It's set to be marginally warmer today thank goodness as yesterday we had that nithering wind back with us again. Sadly very little sun is forecast again. That little spell of summer we had was nice whilst it lasted!
We had our usual good trip out yesterday but when we got seated in our favourite eatery we straight away noticed smart new menus. Ey up I said this looks a bit ominous and, sure enough, the prices had risen. And our favourite wine had disappeared too. Replaced by a more expensive range! With inflation as it is we were not too surprised as it's par for the course these days. Other than that my spending was kept to a minimum and I just came home with 2 cute little plaques to hang on the decking at the caravan! Not essential but I couldn't resist them!
Today I'm meeting DF for lunch. Postponed from Tuesday as she had her annual blood test at the surgery before her BP review next week. I wonder if there will be new menus and price rises today too! I think it's going on 3 weeks since our last meet up so there will be much catching up to do, plus some book swapping. No wonder my to read pile never goes down!
If I can get myself motivated I intend to clean the kitchen and bathroom before I head for the bus down to town. It eases the burden of the Friday Tidy a bit. This leads to a pile of towels and mats to wash but I'll leave that job until I get back and it can go over the airer overnight.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. DP1 it was good to hear that your DGD is keeping well and problem free and you enjoyed your little break away together. Take care folks, be safe x

Now downstairs, washed and dried my hair and having first coffee. It's rather dull outside though fairly mild.
The white washing load dried well yesterday. When I came back from invigilation (Advanced Higher French four hours as the student had extra time) I brought in the washing and even sat outside for a wee while. I paid a couple of bills then enjoyed my lunch of mac 'n' cheese.
The drive into town was especially lovely as I had a wee herd of very jittery deer in the next field (I drove so slowly past them), then further up I spotted a beautiful long-eared hare again and finally the lambs have stopped running away when a car approaches. It all helps to make up for the dreadful miserable weather in the winter. Sorry it this is a bit Pollyana-like!
This morning I'm going up to the clematis nursery way up on Loch Awe, near to the wonderful Hollow Mountain. On the way I'm picking up a friend who fancied coming for the drive. She's a bit of a talker so may be slightly annoying after a while, this is my mission to be less singular. 🙃
Welcome back @dp1 - what a lovely tale about your little one on her first horse. Hugs to all those in pain or dealing with family problems. xx

Nice bright day here but again slightly chilly I can’t wait for long hot days where it’s warm from early morning. OH and co have finished at mums but it needs a good clean so I’m going up there this morning to start on that hopefully I can get the kitchen and lounge done today and the rest can wait till Monday although if I get time I will strip and remake her bed. They are back from their break on Friday so it will be good if it’s all clean and tidy for her.
I am meeting with a potential new person after lunch and then I need to pick up my click and collect order on the way home. Dinner will be something quick with chips, I think dd is out for the night so just OH and I here to eat.
Dogs to be walked later but dd is off so she can take them today.
Have good days all and take care xx

morning everyone I wish it would warm up a bit I have no cleaning jobs today only my own house the lady I normally go to is away on holiday I need to give my kitchen a good clean dogs will need to be walked later hubby has already had them out this morning he has gone to play golf so at least I have got some peace . I cooked. A little gammon joint yesterday we had that last night and it will be a sandwich at lunch time and tonight’s meal and sandwiches Tomorrow lunch time talk about stretching it I only paid 3 pounds for it so it was definitely a bargain. I think I might have a cuppa in peace before I start well I would of normally have been working so I will make the most of it I will have a hard morning tomorrow at the food waste a lot of people are on holiday and it makes us really short handed plus we really could do with more volunteers but people only come a couple of times and we never see them again I suppose it’s the same everywhere it happens at the charity shop we lost 2 girls last week one has decided she likes having more time to herself and the other one has just never come back said it wasn’t for her . We seem to be having a lot of days out on here enjoy every one that’s on there wanders and travels and let’s hope this weather gets a bit warmer for everyone. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Cloudy today but the wind has dropped. Forecast on my phone says 30% chance of rain for an hour soon. Typical as I have my towelling robe out on the line. Washed it when forecast said no rain!
Must be lovely to see all that nature on your car journey @Gers
Nothing planned today. Just done some housework and will go out in garden later as I've got a houseplant I want to repot.
The excitement never stops does it!
Have a good day all x

Morning everyone
I had a busy day yesterday but ended it with a nice cuppa and chat with my friend over the road, and cake of course. Mam was very unsettled yesterday, I took her for a walk which she enjoyed, but had no idea where she was.
Eldest DD rang with the exciting news that she has a new job, still at Puma but she's now a lead designer in a department she has always wanted to work in, I'm very proud of her.
The sun is shining here this morning, but there are showers forecast for later.
Redruby you must feel very cautious meeting potential clients now, after the problems you have had.
Must get some jobs done before it's time to go down to work. I hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers - enjoy your car ride with your friend x
DH went off last night for a camping trip with friends - back Monday late evening. Am happy to have the TV remote to myself! BIL is here still, the en-suite has many elements but the end is in sight - mirror and shower screen going in today.
I have today and tomorrow to myself - have many places I could be/things I could be doing, but I'm going to pace myself. I have a list of house/garden jobs that need doing, so I'll work my way through those. One is my self-assessment which always fills me with dread.
Not surprised at the new menu and prices @TravellingAbuela, hope you enjoy your meet up today.
Have a good day everyone

Morning all, thanks for the start off @Gers.
Today's weather forecast says it will be cloudy with a gentle south easterly breeze and a 50% chance of rain this afternoon. Top 'feels like' temperatures should be around 12 or 13 deg so not quite yet T-shirt weather! The couple of recent nice days seem no more than a distant memory.
It's another day of the usual tasks for me (again) but I've had an email saying one of the two hanging baskets I've ordered should be delivered by Saturday so that's something to look forward to. And I've decided a cardigan I knitted some time ago but don't wear that much can be unravelled and the yarn re-used for the scood pattern I found. Tea tonight is some cooked gammon slices with egg and hash browns. After that I'll settle down to watch another episode of C5's No. 1 Fan drama and maybe read one or two chapters of my latest book, a Patricia Cornwell novel entitled From Potters Field.
@TA - Sorry to hear your eatery trips have become more expensive (isn't everything?) but I hope the food quality stays the same.
@Gers - I remember the Pollyanna books well. Apparently, calling someone a Pollyanna these days can be seen as a bit derogatory but I don't think there's anything wrong with playing the Glad game - better than being miserable. 😁
@Ruby - Fingers crossed today's new potential client meet-up goes well.
@SSue - Glad you enjoyed Polsden Lacey, a day of rest is called for!
@Izzy - Enjoy your golf widow morning. 😁
@Coxy - Self assessments were the bane of my life so good luck with yours!
Right, it's time to ease myself into the day's 'must do's' so I'll leave you all with best wishes that the day brings peace and happiness. Take care all. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7
