Solar panel and battery quote

We are looking at getting solar panels and battery.

We can fit 4 panels east and west facing and 3 panels south facing so 11 panels overall. We had a company out who suggested a 9kw battery and advised getting a bigger inverter of 7kw to avoid issues using oven/kettle/tumble dryer ect together.

This was their suggestion and quote

11x aiko 3s panels

HANCHU ESS
7KW single phase hybrid inverter

HOME-ESS-LV-9.4K
8.93 kWh of Usable Capacity

£11280 installed and fitted does this sound reasonable? The company has a great reputation so I trust they would do a good job.

Is there anything else you would suggest we consider?

The price isn't terrible, although the equipment is all from the budget end of the market.

If you look at some of the recent quotes here on the forum you'll see that some suppliers will give you Eurener panels and a Tesla Powerwall for a similar price. Here's a fairly recent quote (prices might've nudged up a bit since the Hormuz foolishness).

Depending on how much electricity you use as a household, a system without a battery might make more economic sense; see this post for an example.

Thank you I've struggled to find anyone locally offering Tesla power wall and 11 panels for this kind of price. Any idea where this may be available?

I've edited my post to give some examples from other recent threads.

If you're interested, drop a DM to @Screwdriva and he can point you at an installer that covers your area.

(There might be a delay before your system is fitted, as there's been a bit of a run on solar PV in the UK recently and some components are getting harder to source.)

Normally, 11 X 515 Eurener bifacial panels paired to a Tesla Powerwall 3 would cost ~£11K installed (less a £375 rebate from Tesla to you). That's more power generated in real world conditions, paired to (arguably) the world's best battery inverter with 50+ % more storage capacity and infinitely better performance, all at a slightly lower cost.

Judging purely from the kit on offer for the money, I am not impressed by the installer who has quoted you.

The issue facing the small # of installers I use is that they are overbooked. They are all experiencing 4-5X the demand experienced in March, with rapidly dwindling inventory levels, overworked staff, all with no sign of it easing. Feel free to DM me - will always do what I can to help all MSE forum members - but I would not expect an installation date till July, if you're lucky.

Care to share your annual electricity consumption in kWh and perhaps an image of your roof (Google Earth will do)?

    -  Triple aspect. (33% ENE.33% SSE. 34% WSW)

    -  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (The most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me for help with any form of energy saving! Happy to help!

Thanks we aren't in any rush I have sent a DM.

We currently use about 3000kwh annually but now someone is home all day and we have a baby so we expect this significantly increasing!

The front is south facing the suggested 3 on the front (as there's a dorma type window) and 4 on the east and west roof.
