Does Plan B work if in a staff car park

I plan on doing the Plan B for a recent Parking Charge I got, but am wondering if it would work because I passed a barrier to get into the car park?

Basically, we have a staff car park which you need a permit to get in, but I didnt pay and display, so F1rst Parking gave me a £40 fine.

Does Plan B still work in this situation?

Appeals never work unless there's something obvious to win at POPLA, like very unclear signs or a missing entrance sign.

Sounds like just another University car park case to be ignored. We see these a fair bit. Nobody pays. F1rst Parking aren't very litigious so ignore them but open all letters and obviously tell them if you move.
