Pre-approved but not eligible?

Hi everyone,

I've been stoozing for a while and I'm planning on a balance transfer soon. I'm pre-approved for the Santander Long Term Balance Transfer card on the MSE credit club. However, looking at the terms of this card, it says you can only have one "Every day" card - and I already have one (the 12month no fee version).

I know these eligibility checkers aren't perfectly accurate, but has anyone managed to have 2 Everyday cards? I assume the 100% pre-approval can't see that I already have one?

Thanks for any insight!

It depends if the MSE checker looks at both your credit history and card issuer rules or just assume based on the criteria but doesn't check the additional rule

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

The terms and conditions state you cannot have two

I suspect the eligibility checker looks more at affordability etc rather than the exact terms of the card

I know for example that I have used the eligibility checker to check whether I can have Barclaycard and it said yes but I know I cannot because I have closed one within the last six months
