I use a password manager which allows documents and files, as well as logins, to be held in an encrypted online store. You can nominate another user of the same system to have "emergency access". My DD is set up as such. If needed, she would request access through her account and I would be emailed asking if access should be granted. If I don't reply within a set time (24 hours in my case) she will get access.
I set up a test account to test it out and it works. 🙂
Of course, you need to have total faith in the security of the encryption and the storage.

The other way of looking at it is if you don't want people rummaging through your computer when you are gone then make sure you use a local.account and an unguessable pin.

Your executor should not need passwords, they just need to know the institutions so they can provide the death certificate. I went through this a few years ago after my dad died.
I have a printout pinned up in my kitchen titled "In the event of my death" which lists everywhere I have accounts, together with people to contact to invite to my funeral and my (non-binding) wishes regarding various original art I own. No account numbers or passwords, they aren't needed.

Death cert has been issued. Many of the institutions are known. There is a lot that isn't.
And members of the family (not included in the Will) gained access to the house and took away lots of documents…

There are many other things that need attending to when someone dies. POAs and Wills are just part of it.
I am involved in many things clubs/societies etc - not financially but still important, I also write and audit documentation for several clients plus I am often consulted.
So often we read when someone has died how family and friends cannot access various things so the passwords and such will help them.
