Morning all, thanks @Gers for the start off.
It didn't rain after all yesterday so my new brolly still hasn't had a test run but it will undoubtedly happen at some stage! At the moment it's bright and sunny with a gentle breeze (rain not expected) and on the cool side; we might just get up to 10 deg.
I enjoyed my trip to the hairdresser yesterday and feel human again, just a pity it grows so quickly! Nowhere to go today so I'll occupy myself around the house, the jobs are starting to pile up again. The freezer has yielded up some salmon for tonight's tea that I'll have with baby potatoes, peas & sweetcorn; however, the salmon has been replaced by cooked gammon slices so no space gained. I see that Sainsburys currently has a 3 for 2 offer on fish and, since I eat a lot of it, am now in a dilemma - do I take advantage of it or do I stick to my self-imposed frugal May? If I'm tempted the freezer will have even less space! 😁
@Chrisca - I don't think there are many dentists now that do the scaling & polishing part of a check up, that's down to the hygienist and of course it's an 'extra' cost. My last hygienist was very gentle and patient but I still dreaded it.
@Coxy - No, you're not mis-remembering. Most butter packs are now 200g rather than 250g. 😕 Another example of shrinkflation.
@dp1 - Glad you and LO enjoyed the holiday park.
Nothing else of importance so I'll leave you all with wishes for a good day. Take care, hugs where needed. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
A quick pop in whilst lunch is in the oven.
@Chrisca50 and @Coxy11 - I too found the hygienist session rather uncomfortable and sometimes painful so now have the airflow process instead. It's like jet washing for the teeth, no pain at all. I've got a Denplan so no extra charge. Just got a text reminder of my own session on Friday!

Good afternoon
Bright and sunny, but a tad chilly. I forgot to post yesterday, and almost forgot today as well. Yesterday I went to Lids for my last free sack of spuds. Then popped into Ald* down the road. Got there at the right time as a lot of 50% reductions were being put out. So I got cod x2, pork chops, bacon and veg. When I checked the receipt I was charged full price for the tenderstem broccoli. I went back for a refund, but felt guilty doing so. Then went to Asd* on the way back to top up with petrol. Went into the store for a look and picked up some of their 4 for £5 offers. Checked the receipt and the discount hadn't come off, so back to customer service. Got my refund. If I hadn't checked my receipts I would have been £6 out of pocket. Anyway the freezer is totally rammed now.
Gammon cooking in the slow cooker for tonight, had to take it out of the freezer to fit other things in.
That's my exciting life at the moment. Have a good rest of the day all, take care.

Trying to decide what to do today. Nothing or something? Most days I do nothing (well other than loiter in MSEland).
I could try to tidy something. I did water the 2 pots by the front door - mostly to check if they had caught any of the rain last night. (no, apparently, not sure why - annoying as I tend to forget about them and they do get dry and ratty). Think I'll wander about and see if I can find the OH (he's large so it's always an easy find) and ask/tell him to take out the bins and finish tidying the kitchen if he wants me to cook dinner tonight. Maybe ask if he wants the jar of pasta sauce with meatballs on pasta or if he'd prefer me to wing something with some passata, courgette and shallots. Wonder if we should have garlic bread? Oh my I lead such a stressful life…..
(note to self - deal with those 3 too ripe bananas before the rubbish is collected on Friday) (likely to mean peeling them and popping them in the freezer for future oatmeal banana muffins)
