Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
It's a 'flat' day weatherwise - no breeze, no sunshine, no rain (yet). I got the grass cut yesterday when I got home from work as it looked like rain but there's been none yet. Really should have watered the plants too.
Have a good trip Allie.
Glad you got rid of the squirrel Coxy, I would have been terrified!
Your DMum will be delighted with her new floor Ruby. Good luck with the new folk.
Hope everyone is well, still missing Nanny and taff, hope you're ok.
Take care. XX

This morning there's no faffing! I've got an express wash going and ready for my day. It's an invigilation session first thing, I prefer that to an afternoon one.
The BP appointment was fine although it was a healthcare assistant who did the checks and took bloods so I'm now booked in with the nurse for a review of my meds next week. The 'rags' were delivered to the textile box on the way home. Swerved the CS as there's more stuff to add to the bag so will leave that for another day.
On the run so leaving chucking hugs and good wishes to all for a good day, take care. x

Tiny bit of blue sky out there this morning but not expecting much sun today.
Quiet day today. A bit of housework and moving a few things in the garden and that's about it.
Got a reminder yesterday that I need to make an appointment to see the hygienist at the dentist. Went for the first time 6 months ago and, ouch, it's a painful thing so not looking forward to having to pay out for more pain. You never had to pay before, the dentist just did that. A bit of a take on if you ask me!
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. A glorious start with blue sky and sun but sadly the temps appear to be going backwards. 4 deg at the minute and only predicted to scrape into double figures - 11 deg - by mid-day. Brr. I won't be casting any "clouts" just yet.
It's bus trip day today. That'll mean Skipton again. Last week bus buddy had to cancel as she was a bit concerned about leaving her DH (he's in the early stages of dementia) We'll have a good catch up over lunch and our customary bottle of wine before heading for the bus back. Hopefully that'll be the only spending done as I am supposed to be watching the pennies this month after a very expensive April.
I got a few jobs done yesterday morning before dropping into slothdom and catching up on a few programmes I had missed due to an excess of snooker watching!.
Have a good day folks if you can, thinking of the poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, be safe x

Good morning from a dull Mehefinland
Been mia for a while but busy as usual.
Met with DS and DIL 2be at Lacock on Sunday. Took my new friend too so they could meet without the pressure of the wedding which is a month today. I think it went well, DS was a bit guarded ,but that was only to be expected. DIL2be was brilliant and really made the effort to welcome and get to know. Don't think I would rush back to Lacock though. It was extremely busy with Harry Potter enthusiasts from around the world and I thought expensive too. However it was nice to see ,although we jibbed at the entry price to the Abbey and forgo that!! Got home just as it started raining, so we were really lucky with the weather.
Fairy pony is shedding hair like there's no tomorrow- its almost like a cloud following her, and when she rolls on the grass it is a dense patch of chesnut hair. The birds soon find it though! Showman seems to be hanging on to his a bit more at the moment. After the rain and sunshine yesterday I will need to keep an eye on the grass growth and possibly split the field soon. Don't want them getting too fat, or getting laminitis.
Was gifted an agapanthus yesterday -it is huge. Potted up and watered straight away- my soil is too thin here to grow anything with deep roots( although the weeds always seem to manage lol). The 3 I bought online last year didn't survive the winter unfortunately.
Hugs and spoons as always - see Taff posted on the gardening thread so she is still with us! No sign of Na though

Morning all, thanks Gers- hope the invigilating goes well.We do have a bit of blue sky but it's nippy.I have a food delivery in an hour,Mr M's gave me a free delivery pass for a month , so getting a few different things in from my usual Oc… stuff. Whichever I use there seems to be less items for increasing money 🤔
We went up to our friends yesterday afternoon. They were both in the garden so we sat out - not the warmest but ok as long as I kept my jacket on. She didn't look well and had rung for an econsult & they've booked her in for today, she's in a lot of pain with osteo arthritis so not sleeping.
It was later than planned getting home for tea, so I sliced the pork fillet up instead of roasting whole, seasoned with smoked paprika,s/p and finished it with a squirt of honey, and used frozen greens and Idahomash. All went down well.
Izzy I've been using bits from my freezers and there is quite a lot of room now - costing more to fill them up though, that's the trouble!
Back to school pickup later but from next week I think ,DS2 is going to be working on an extension near school so he can do it, DGS will walk home to his DMs round the corner and wait for him, ready for his various football activities. Means we wont see him every day but will give us a bit more time to ourselves, normally we set off just after 2.30 and sometimes don't get home until 5 depending on traffic near DS2s..
Chrisca, sorry about your friends DH.
Mehefin, glad the meeting with DS, fiancee and new friend went ok.
Right better go and do something useful, take care all.

Morning all
Bright and sunny here although still slightly chilly, I have a wash on the go including my dressing gowns to freshen them up a bit I will hang them out in a while.
Today I need to walk the hounds and do a click and collect for tomorrow I will do it for after my appointment as it’s on the way home. I need to continue the job search too, there just doesn’t seem to be an awful lot about atm.
Dinner tonight will be chicken casserole, I shall put it in the sc shortly, I will do some rice with it later, it’s a very quick and cheap recipe that my mum made up when we were kids it filled hungry belly’s and is still a firm favourite now.
Mehefin I’m glad the meeting went well xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Have a good day invigilating - I'm another that prefers to get to work early/finish early.
I'm WFH today and will sign on shortly. I have a few projects to start for the team including organising company merch!
Glad the meet up went well @mehefin - your DIL2B sounds like she's making more effort now which is good to hear. Wow only a month until the wedding, that's bonkers.
Talking of less food for the same/more money - is it me or did butter blocks used to come in 250g? I bought one at the weekend and another yesterday and they are 200g now? Am I misremembering?
I too need to book in at the hygienist @Chrisca50 - it's £75 and you have to pay upfront which is why I'm stalling. We both could do with going tbh. I dread it as my teeth are super sensitive despite using posh toothpaste.
Good to hear @-taff is posting - just need to locate @nannywindow now!
Have a good day all

Morning everyone
Just had a catch up of the last few days before I start my day - I'm going down to mam and dads house to sort the last of mams coats and shoes and some of little ones' toys from the garage for my brother to drop at my house one day, I'll wash the coats before I take them down to the care home. This afternoon I've got a prescription to pick up in town and then will go down to visit mam and dad. Mam rang me last night asking me to do her a Tesco delivery as she couldn't find any bacon in her kitchen…it took a while to get her to understand she has no kitchen…
My brother has arranged for an estate agent to go and value the house next week, we're hoping once it's sold mam might settle better. She's still constantly telling dad she's taking him home which upsets him because he knows they can't.
I had a lovely weekend with little one at the holiday park 10 minutes along the road. It was warm and sunny on Saturday so we were outside all day apart from swimming. She enjoyed bungee jumping, a climbing wall and jumping from about 8 foot onto a big inflatable, appropriately called the big jump! In between activities were 2p machines in the arcade, shows and visiting ducks, geese and swans.
It poured down on Saturday night and then on Sunday morning but we braved the giant puddles ( she wished I'd taken her wellies ) and she did a wizard workshop making her own magic potion and made a bug hotel.
The final treat on Sunday afternoon was her first horse ride, which she absolutely loved. Just 20 minutes or so round a quiet part of the park, it was lovely to see how happy she was. Her blood sugar alarm went off on the horse ride, she thought it was so funny that I had to ask the girl leading her to stop so I could pop a glucose sweet into her mouth. Of course I got asked the inevitable question 'granny do you think you could buy me a horse?' No….
Right, I'd best get on…hope everyone has a good day x
