ParkingEye / DCB Legal claim - Manchester Hall - need defence help

Hi all,

County Court claim from ParkingEye via DCB Legal. Acknowledged service already.

  • Claim number: N8KF97V0
  • Issue date: 15 April 2026
  • Date of contravention: 02/06/2025
  • Location: Manchester Hall, Manchester
  • Total claimed: £266.52 (£170 PC + damages, £35 court fee, £50 legal costs)
  • Claimant: ParkingEye Ltd
  • Solicitors: DCB Legal Ltd

I was the driver. I believe I was there for under 10 minutes, but at most around 15. I parked briefly because my friend was unwell and vomiting, so I had to help him. I ignored the original PCN and follow-up letters (I know, mistake) and don't have any of the previous correspondence.

CPR 31.14 request sent today via DCB's Defendant Response Form (they don't publish a public email).

Need help with:

  1. Drafting a defence — particularly around the consideration period / grace period if ANPR shows I was under 10 mins
  2. Whether the £170 (vs £100 original PCN) and the £50 legal costs are challengeable
  3. Anything else I'm missing

Thanks in advance.

Your claim reference number needs removing

Have you completed your AOS stage online on MCOL yet, if yes, what date. ?

Post a redacted picture of the POC from the lower left of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first

The £70 is already challenged in the defence template

The £50 legal cost is standard practice

With an issue date of 15/04/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS after 20/04/26 and before or on 04/05/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 18/05/26

You won't be drafting anything at all!

The defence for DCB / ParkingEye claims is already linked in the Template Defence thread. Please don't post it here.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
