Is this Leylandii hedge likely to recover?

Thank you. Not my hedge, but I trim my side which is in the picture.

As it's not your hedge/trees you can only trim what is overhanging your boundary which if the fence is the boundary line then not much can be cut back.
If that is the case then you can't reduce the height either without the owners permission.

Because you can only trim the dead bits on your side you will be left with worse than you have now. except it will be dead twigs and not dead brown bits
Worse still, your neighbour may claim you killed the hedge and you may finish up on the front page of Daily Wail 😁
I'd trim just a wee obscure bit and see what happens before doing the lot

I thought that was the case, seeing how the fence was positioned, but people would keep
telling yousuggesting what to plant instead! 😂Weak men. Hard times.

Wasn't thinking of doing anything to the hedge, just wondered if it was most likely dead or might recover.

The hedge has lots of these webs. Are they likely to be spider mite webs, does anybody know?
?

The short answer is probably 'none of us knows.' If they were caused by spider mites, there are very few
legalapproved measures open to gardeners that will see them off. The most effective acaricide lost approval over 20 years ago, although it is still available in the US.On the bright side, it does appear there is new growth occurring, so you might not be in a dead parrot scenario after all.
