How to attach to shed roof?
I have seen a decorative item I would like to attach to my shed roof but don't know how to. I assume if I screwed it onto the roof, this would cause a leak, due to damaging the felt. I have attached a picture of a similar item.

I would screw the feet to a couple of pieces of 4x2 or 3x3 which are long enough to give it some weight and stability, then simply stand the assembly on top of the felt.
Just make sure there is enough weight that it won't be blown off in a storm, but not so much weight the roof gets damaged.
Alternatively, if near enough to the edge of the shed, use some 'L' shaped brackets with one end screwed to the fascia/barge board and the feet cable tied or wired to the other end.

Is it a flat or sloping roof?
I'd go with what S62 suggests; fix the bird's feet to a couple of timbers, or just one flat piece of wood if suitable, and hope that this will be stable enough - I presume the birdie is quite heavy? If needed, you can Stixall the wood to the shed roof for more stability.
Fixing the feet to the timber will likely need threading through wire loops or similar, unless you can find clips - like cable clips - of the right size.

I would just use screws - set at angles to the left and right to lock the feet in place. Or some BZP penny washers under the screw heads as an easier alternative.
A deluxe approach would be using plastic cable cleats (of the SWA type) - which would also have the advantage of eliminating metal-metal contact and any risk of galvanic corrosion.

A healthy dollop of silicone sealant around any/all screws going through the felt should prevent any leaks.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

It's a slight slope (pent roof). We do get strong winds blowing through, and it appears pretty light, so I feel it needs to be firmly attached.

Use the two bits of wood method, make them a bit longer, pile some bricks on the bits of wood.
How close to the edge of the roof would it be?

What's the roof covered in?
It's hollow - sick a bit of broom handle or similar wood up it and screw it to the side of the shed, with the feet just clear of the top.

These do go rusty after about four years so make it easy to remove.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Any chance of a pic of the shed, showing where you want it fixed?
