Airbnb and 3rd party prices
Not sure the title is correct, but just wanted to share my recent experience.
Planning a UK city break this summer and decided that we'd try airbnb for the first time. Found one that suited us, but noticed it was a business let, the business was cottages.com. We then looked at their website and found the same accommodation £100 cheaper.
I guess this may be well known, but thought it worth sharing

Just be aware that booking via Airbnb does give (both) parties additional protections in case of forced cancellations, no-shows, disputes etc that may not be present with other booking sites or when booking direct.
Trade-off is, of course, that both parties save on the Airbnb fees (typically 15% of the let price).

cottages.com is part of Hoseasons.

I regularly book with Airbnb and Hosts have been individual people and been ok.
Now the last one with Airbnb and was Cottages.com the break went ok but the communications weren't just as straightforward as my previous dealings with Airbnb, I decided that in future not book an Airbnb being used by another letting company.
