Morning sophiesmum, don't know if it helps but at 16 I was given control of my child benefit. It taught me to budget every four weeks, and I had to buy school uniform or anything I needed before anything I wanted.
I will:
* Go food shopping with mum and stick to our budget £75 (leaving £10 spare cash for the week)
* Do some clicks
* Update the spreadsheets
* Hopefully make a bet!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Me and my three brothers were given our Child benefit as well at age 16/17 we were also encouraged to get Saturday jobs which really helped. Boys paper rounds or resturant work and me shop assistant (maybe thats where I get my love of shopping from! - no think I inherited that from my Mum!)
We had to buy our own clothes, cds days out etc. It really helped me (I know it probably doesn't look like that now!!) to learn the value of money and to save up for things and I felt quite grown up and independant.
Hope this helps:EasterBun0 -
