Morning all.
Rather dull here so far and I can see it rained overnight. My washing has gone in the tumble drier, apart from a few bits draped over the airer.
It's been a busy few days, with lots of May Day events, fetes etc. Yesterday DH and I had a break and spent the day in London, just walking around and having a nice lunch. Today DH is dancing at a village fete with his Morris side and I am out with mine at a Care Home, followed by a pub at lunchtime and then an open day at a farm museum. Have taken some chilli out of the freezer for an easy meal this evening.
Look after yourselves and hope it warms up a bit!

Very misty first thing but clearing away now. No sun expected today but not too cold either.
Off out later to get some bedding plants so will be in the garden for a while today.
Snooker this afternoon. Must decide what to get out of freezer for dinner too!
Have a good day all x

Morning All
Happy Star Wars Day, may the 4th be with you.
Bright and sunny this morning, bedding on the line and another load in, looks like the perfect drying day. I did get the dressing gowns dried outside yesterday even thought it was a bit dull.
Sounds like a busy day for you WL, glad you had a good day yesterday.
Glad you have a better quote Ruby, your boiler has done well!
Sorry your lunch with old neighbours didn't go well Coxy.
I've just done some ironing that's been hanging about for far too long, shower then to deliver a birthday present at a friends before I go for a day out with another friend, I think it's Culross Palace and a look about the town today. We'll get lost as usual but it's all part of the fun!
Take care. XX

Good morning
Dull start, forecast much the same as yesterday. We got a shower around 5pm, when DH had taken big dog for a walk, so floors to mop today.
Maybe popping to Lids to get my free sack of potatoes. Making the most of them as the Lids rewards are set to change tomorrow. I doubt they will be as generous as they are now. I've taken some chicken drumsticks out of the freezer for tonight. Will marinate them in a bbq sauce that's living in the cupboard and have with chips (for DH), jacket potato and coleslaw. May do some salad on the side if I can get away with it.
Have a good Bank Holiday Monday all, although BHs don't mean much when you're retired. Take care.

Good morning, it's fine here after a rainy day yesterday.
Dgd and I went to a nearby shopping centre, had a quick look round, and I bought one or two grocery items at Sains.
Sounds like you had a nice day out the other day WL, and a busy one coming up today.
I'm going to tidy the freezer, again. The blooming thing's always in a mess. Hope you have a nice day out Camelot, and Chrisca, hope you get your plants in.
Have a good day everyone, take care.

Morning again - in the interim the sun has burnt off the early mist, whether it hangs around or not is up in the air.
I've been doing more faffing upstairs, there's so much more still to faff with. I ended up looking at the 'Unser Kind' (our child) photo album which my beloved DM put together from my very early days right through to when I was 21 years old. Germany to Scotland to England to Germany and back to Scotland. There's a couple of photos from Gillingham which may also show some childhood friends who I am still in touch with so scanned them and will email them on.
Next to the photo album was my undergraduate dissertation from 1997, I wrote about Beryl Cook and her place in art history. Interestingly one marker noted how ponderous it was whilst the other commented on my lively and engaging style.😀 Fortunately they both agreed on the mark so it ended well.
There's also my DM's handwritten recipe book which is rather tatty though it's evoked so many memories of her excellent baking and cooking. So many things in it are part of my childhood going well into my adult years. She showed love through food. Not sure if I can (or should) recreate some items though may try later on in the year.
@Camelot - schools are still in here. Culross Palace should be fab.
Dancing and music on May Day is perfect. I've never washed my face in the morning dew so will give it a miss today too.
No real plans again, I may end up back upstairs for more faffing. Take care all, hope that you can enjoy your day. x

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Happy Star Wars Day back at ya @camelot1001 x
The Rochester Sweeps Festival was fun. Nice to see the High St and castle grounds full of people. I had a lovely Pimm’s whilst there and we watched several Morris sides do their thing.
I put the oven cleaner to work last night and have just cleaned up - has take me an hour as such a grotty job. Looks so much better and all ready for roast beef later.
Not sure we will catch the snooker which is a shame as it’s been exciting enough for me to look into tickets for next year! Was so happy for my football team last night - a brief glimmer of hope IYKYKHave a good day everyone and hugs for our poorlies x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. No sun, no rain, no wind here and that's the way the day is going to stay apparently.
I could do with catching the faffing bug GERS. I never get beyond looking in despair and shutting the door on all the clutter. Stuff that nobody else will want, I don't need, yet can't bring myself to part with.. Lots of crockery and ornaments treasured by both my DM and DGM and now me. And don't mention photographs! My lovely dad developed and printed his own photos so I have a big box load of them from our younger days. His "dark room" was our big pantry and we knew from an early age not to open the door when he was busy in there!
Not much planned for today. A pottering morning doing bitsa this and bitsa that. Then the afternoon and evening are earmarked for the last day of the snooker final. I only tidied the freezer last week and already it's in chaos. I've just been out to get some gammon, the last pack of the slices I froze after my 'van stay and had to do a real rummage as I knew it was in there somewhere!
The wm is chugging away again so that will go upstairs to dry on the airer. Yesterday's bedding wash festooning the upstairs is now dry and ready to put away until the next bed change.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care and be safe x

Morning all
It’s a bit overcast here this morning but the sun is due out mid morning which will be nice, OH and dd are both working so I have the day to myself which I always enjoy, OH is working at my mums four houses along, mum is away this week with my sister, so OH and his work mate are lifting the kitchen flooring to put insulation underneath, this should have been done before she moved in but was missed, I will try and get up there later in the week to get it all clean and tidy for when she comes home.
Enchiladas for dinner tonight I will make them this morning ready to heat through later I will do some salad with them too.
I did more garden work yesterday it’s looking really nice out there, I have now ran out of pots and plants 👀 unless I buy any more 😬
Dogs to be walked later and I will have a tidy and clean through.
Have good days all and take care xx
