Facebook business page pause

We are looking to pause a business Facebook Page so that people can still see the content but not post or comment. The business is closing and we are setting up a new separate business doing the same thing. Both the previous business operator and we would like to keep the old Facebook Page available. I am not sure it’s possible but thought I would ask if anyone knows.

You can deactivate it where it removes it temporarily and then you can activate it again if you want it.

I'm not sure you can pause it like you describe although you could just put a post up and say it is being paused for a while etc, and then go through the most recent posts and turn off commenting.

It's unusual for people to interact with old posts anyway but I guess if someone keeps a wee eye on it and turns off commenting for any posts that are found it will deal with them too.

@pramsay13 I can’t see anything that does what I am looking for. I might suggest i look after it for a while in the meantime. Do you know if it’s possible to automatically divert to a different page?

Definitely can't automatically divert to another page.

Why not just take over this page for the new business?

If you do start a new one and it's the same name you can ask to combine them both, but not sure it's straightforward.
