Renting a property overseas

I am thinking about renting somewhere overseas during January for about a month next year. Has anyone got any advice and information about doing this? It would probably be somewhere for winter sun.
many thanks

The advice would depend on which "somewhere" you were thinking of. You're probably better to look at a forum for the specific country.

As above, the question is too vague to give any meaningful guidance, but personally I'd start at sites like Airbnb and Vrbo for most destinations.

I did this at the beginning of the year… I paid perhaps USD300 per month for a beautiful two-bed apartment in the heart of Old Havana, Cuba. In that part of town, unlike the rest of the country, the electricity and water supplies are constant: however at times I did have some issues with my internet connection.

I found it in the Facebook group Cuba Travel Tips.

We own 'overseas' property which we used to advertise on Holiday Lettings (we've now moved to AirBnb) and have accepted bookings this way before now

Just decide where you fancy then look on a holiday rental site for availability, then try to negotiate a decent 'long stay - out of season' discount.
