Plan A Wins Again - Aldi Kidbrooke

I received a PCN from Parking Eye during a recent visit to Aldi in Kidbrooke.

Having used Plan A successfully at this location before, I contacted Aldi Customer Services with my receipt number. I explained that I had no intention of shopping at a place where I risked a £70 addition to my bill and within a day, they responded with a friendly email confirming the cancellation of the PCN.

They said they never give charges to genuine customers so well done Aldi.

I think it may have been easy to resolve because I tend to keep my receipts, so it's worth noting for anyone who regularly uses this kind of car park.

What’s worrying, though, is that I clearly remember entering my vehicle details at the terminal after paying for my shopping, yet I still received the PCN.

From now on, I’ll be taking photos of my entries (steady folks, this isn’t Carry On Parking).

As a frequent user of this Aldi, I’m very familiar with the process and what to do each time. Had Aldi not cancelled the fine, I would’ve requested in-store CCTV footage to prove I used the terminal.

Is this something that happens often? I read this forum regularly and don’t recall seeing a similar situation.

Thanks for the all the good work done here – it’s saved me £340 so far. That's £340 in my bank, not theirs.

It has been reported occasionally, yes.

The problem is most systems offer no receipt but I have seen one in a Tesco operated by Horizon, that not only suggests which car once you start typing but also offers a text or email confirmation of your exemption & states your allowed exit time including grace period.

And yes I take a photo of the screen every time at my GP's & only delete the pics two months later. Shocking really that we have to.

But nice result. Well done! Plan A strikes again!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
