Cheapest H7 headlight bulb

Heads up, guys.

The cold weather finally got the better of one of my H7 halogen headlight bulbs. I always carry a spare (if I have any more emergency equipment aboard my car, I am going to have to paint it dark green with a "2" on the roof!), but now have to find another one for the lowest price possible.

The current winner is Wilkinsons at £4.75.

Anyone know of any better?

this is a common thread on here, undoubtedly you will get the quality versus price argument at some point.
but if you want the cheapest h7 halogen bulb i suggest finding a local car part store or motor factor and they will give you one for around £3.00.

    Thanks GS.

I will ring my local parts shops on Monday.

However, my records show that on 23/09/06, when I bought the bulb I have just fitted, Wilko's were then the cheapest at £4.75 and I would have also tried the local shops at the time.

Aldi occasionally sell bulb kits for £3.99. They have a main H4, H1 or H7 bulb and a selection of other bulbs and fuses.

Not your local parts shops Stephen. Try your local motor factors - primarily trade outlets, but usually happy to sell to anyone.
Googling Partco Bristol will bring up one relatively near to you.

And Camberley Auto Factors are almost next door to Partco.

Lidl has sold pairs of headlight bulbs in the past about the same price (pairs of bulbs not the kit).

    Update:

I've done some 'phoning around and was quoted £5.49, £5.99, £7.99 and £9.99!

I've also checked online, and autobulbs direct were £5.45 (inc. £1.50 delivery) and dashlights were £7.99 (no delivery surcharge) for two. Whilst this works out as the cheapest per bulb, £7.99 is still more than £4.75 and I only need one bulb.

I have yet to check Aldi & Lidl.

Has anyone tried eBay? They usually have some good bargains, especially on the better quality bulbs.

I have seen them ( a pack of 2) in Poundland!
    .....

  • I bought a box of 10 Peugeot branded H7 bulbs off Ebay last winter for about £7inc postage, possibly one of the best bargains I've ever had off the 'Bay.

Don't spend too much on phone calls and time, Stephen.
Otherwise your eventual purchase may be a costly bargain.
