Took out insurance 10pm for a trip at 6am next morning. After i had paided, an email came through saying cover would not be live for upto 24 hours until they set up my portal for docs. This would leave me with no cover. So no choice had to cancel and get cover elsewhere.

They charged me £75 for cancellation although i argued they had mis sold. No joy on their chat bots!!! However bank mostly agreed and i got back £50 via chargeback. Leaving me £25 down, i can live with that.

However i now have threats of lawsuits, courts, solicitors fees, ccjs unless i pay, the amount has gone upto to £158!!! This was a problem caused by them that i had to solve, i needed cover, anyone got any advice or had problems with this lot before?? THEY ARE CHEAP BUT ONE PROBLEM AND YOU ARE IN A WORLD OF TROUBLE, do not touch

It isn't for the bank to decide. Using chargeback incorrectly results in exactly the sort of thing you are going through.

You should have used their complaints process if you disagreed with them and not use the method you did

You should always read the terms of use before signing up

A purchase at 10pm for a trip next day at 6am could be exploited by a scammer (not saying you are, just providing context) e.g. someone knew they couldn't travel so needed insurance to claim on it. A budget firm will always look to reduce cover to make themselves cost effective. I have ordered insurance for a few days for under £20, if I had a big claim that would destroy profits

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
