...be it to supply a meter reading, paying a bill or having to go through to Probate, please be aware that you will be promoted to on every call you make into the company. Especially if you are an opt in customer. If your opt out, agents will try to talk you out of that marketing consent status and as soon as you agree to it, you will be promoted too. Save yourself the hassle of being promoted to by saying "All I want to do is make a payment, supply a meter reading, please do not promote to me" at the beginning of the call. And if you want to save money if you are interested in boiler cover, kitchen appliance care or whatever, check out the british gas website instead. Saves you money on not having to call up an 0845 number and you usually get a better discount :cool:
