Morning everyone
Chrisca and Gers - it must be tarmac season, the roads down at the village where I work were getting tarmac in the pot holes yesterday, just the holes though not the whole roads.
We've had a nice couple of afternoons at work as it's been lovely and sunny so we've been in the garden. When I got home yesterday I went across to my friend for a cuppa and a very nice piece of carrot cake.
I'm not working today - I've shopping to do this morning then packing ready for the weekend. I'm taking little one to one of the Haven parks just 10 minutes along the road for the weekend… she's so excited you'd think we were flying somewhere!
Mam had blood tests the other day and has now been referred to the memory clinic, though there's a waiting list so it could be several months before she is assessed. I had to go down on Monday and tell her, nicely but firmly, to leave dads catheter alone - she'd almost pulled it out on Saturday 'just putting it right' and he'd been in a lot of pain.
When I was there yesterday she was in a happier mood and I ordered her a couple of new dresses. She's going on a trip to a local cafe for a cuppa and a walk this morning and then there's a singer this afternoon that dad will listen to as well, so I'll not go down today.
Right best get moving as I need to catch the bus down the hill just before 10 . I have little one and foster baby after school for a couple of hours, no doubt she'll have gossip from school!
Take it easy TA, hope everyone has a good day x

Always the way @RedRuby1231 - the tablets may wear off! Here's the men working their way towards my house - there's loads of them. Big trucks delivering 'stuff' regularly. Not sure if they are actually repairing the potholes or just filling them with tarmac!

Afternoon all, thanks @Gers for this morning's start off. My word, you do have a posh road now! 😁 As noted by @dp1, it must be tarmac season!
Sunny again, light breeze and rain not expected but it's still quite chilly early mornings and late evenings. I have my heating switched off now but am having to give it a blast for an hour or so each end of the day.
After I gave my bedroom a good clean yesterday (where does all this dust come from?), I was too tired to get out for my top-up shop so that's on the cards for later this afternoon. I'll take the soft plastics too as well as posting my ballot paper. Feet up after that as I'm slowly realising I'm no spring chicken anymore and am having to pace myself better (which I find very frustrating) so tea tonight will be an easy one of haddock fishcake with a few chunky chips, fruit for afters.
DS's schedule didn't quite go to plan either (a planning mess up by the office) and tbh I can't get my head around where he went. 🤔 All I know is it was a 16 hour day and turned just after midnight when he got home. Today he's delivering a car to Edinburgh and collecting another one in Ayrshire before returning home. Where that one is going tomorrow will be revealed later today. He seems to be enjoying the job but I have my reservations (the company's definition of 'local' definitely doesn't marry up with mine) - it's not my circus though, is it?
@Coxy - Glad to hear progress is being made on the en suite.
@Izzy - Nowadays I try to concentrate on one thing at a time but it's not an easy habit to break when you've been used to multi tasking. 😕
@remmie - I've just opened my last tin of corned beef and can't see me buying a replacement anytime soon! Food prices are getting just plain silly. I hope your DH manages to get the fence paint soon.
@dp1 - Have a lovely weekend with LO at Haven.
Take care all, have a good day. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
thank you all for your thoughts yesterday it did help.
Had a quiet day ,have had a blood test and a Covid booster and booked my flu and probable winter Covid for October
Talking to the receptionist,I said what a good idea it was as saves blocking the phone lines in September with patients asking if the flu is in she agreed but said downside is quite a few people forget !,
Stay safe all
