If you like Photinias, you could try “Little Red Robin”. Being smaller, it should be happier in a pot than the normal one.

depends how big you want them, you can get reasonably sized young trees that are not terribly expensive. It’s the big old ones with the gnarled trunks that cost a lot.
I got ones out 2 foot high for £15 recently.1 -
I got my two at about 3 ft about 4 years ago, they're 8ft tall now.

I saw these used as hedging in our hospital car park.
They were looking much the same as yours, dropped leaves and a bit threadbare. I'm thinking that as a species they aren't liking these hot dry spells we are getting now.
My potted trees aren't happy either and I've been watering and feeding. The constant dry air isn't working for them.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

This is what your photinia wants to be when it grows up. I greatly dislike the things and announced it was for the chop as soon as I moved in last year, it is just reprieved until I actually get round to cultivating that bit. It's doing this just to spite me.
