Court Claim Form for parking in GP car park! Civil Enforcement Limited

I visited my GP with a young family member for an emergency appointment (which led to an immediate visit to A&E) in May 2025

Since my last GP a year prior, in early 2024, the GP practice had engaged a private parking company to manage their car park (car park owned by the GP practice)

There is an iPad to enter your car registration in the reception area to avoid private parking company agro. I was unaware of this, there had been no comms. to patients and the signage was inadequate

I got caught out!

Since receiving the first letter in the post from the private parking company I have tried to resolve the matter with the the GP and private parking company. This has included submitting FOI requests and DSARs to the GP. Unfortunately I haven't been successful! Yet

I have now received the Claim Form below and filed an AoS online

Is the next step just to follow the standard guidance and filed a Defence, or is there any different process for a GP cark park?

Can they claim £50 for their own legal costs in the small claims court?

With an issue date of 21/04/26 and having completed the AoS after 26/04/26 and before or on 10/05/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 26/05/26

    Yes. That's normal.

It's the added £82 that they can't have (the fake £70 double recovery plus the pre-loaded interest).

    I've drafted a Defence:

    - - - - - - - - - - - - -

AI generated Defence removed following Coupon-mad feedback so as not to confuse in the future

No, that's not the Template Defence (the one linked specially in the thread of that name, with with Chan & Akande as para 3).

And AI has yet again failed by giving you the five year out of date Statement of Truth.

You didn't have to draft a single word!

All I can do is apologise!

Let me get this right, my Defence is literally the Defence template plus para 3 from minimonsta as this is a "fail to state breach" argument. No personal information/facts required at all? Well that's "easier" than I though!

    So this?

Defence wording removed to avoid any future confusion

Correct but you will have to remove or change the characters that are air quotes, from " to. ' or similar

Mcol does not allow the following " < >

You should take out paragraph 3 and edit out the double quotes, the air quotes

Then add that as paragraph 3 to the newest template defence at the top of this forum in post 2

The example you used above has far too many scattered air quotes so must be an older example

Therefore It is NOT the current template defence

It is the right defence wording but it looks like single ' have been changed to "
