Work to be done by open reach prior to installing full fibre
Open reach wants my permission to do some work prior to fibre installation. Concerned about the digging. Is the acceptable as sooner or later we all need to have full fibre. Here are some photos.

You either want it installed or you don’t.
It won’t be possible to lay cabling underground without digging.

The contractors may well use a mole to get from pavement edge up to the property wall, with a minimum of disruption caused.
OP you seem to have a lot of concerns about getting upgrade to your present service, the one question you should ask yourself is will my property benifit from being upgraded to the latest/ fastest service rather than being left behind with a outmoded one.
I would imagine many renters would disregard a property that did not have up to date connection.

Moling is dependent on ground conditions and being able to avoid other services

What exactly are your concerns? It will all be made good and the fact that you have block paving is actually quite good as they only have to lift the blocks and put them back when complete so you won't know they've been there in the end.

or just get Starlink no digging to the property

I'm surprised they're proposing putting ducting in. Openreach have attacked our 1970's built estate, with all underground cabling, by planting telegraph poles as much of the existing underground cable is not in ducts apparently.

Is this proposal aggressive, is there an easier route?

If there was an easier route which also equates to cheaper, do you not think they would have pushed that forward? I'm not even sure what's "aggressive" about it.

There are companies who run their cables through the sewers, only for business customers as far as I know, but you could try a soft search see if they operate in your area.

Our AltNet supplier has its cabling in "existing infrastructure" as they say rather than sewers… only problem is we have twice lost connectivity because rats chewed through the cable and getting access has alternative problems.
We certainly arent a business but last time I checked they only do blocks of flats where the freeholder agrees to wire the whole building (individuals can choose if to use them or OpenReach). They do offer a business option for single place, the monthly costs are comparable but the install costs can be substantial. A local restaurant was looking at it as they are direct to the exchange (like our old flat) so terrible speeds, no options for FTTC etc but the ISP wanted something like £8k to put in their system.
