How to fix this?
The handle has come away from my trusty sharpening steel as can been seen below. It's from a decent Henckels knife set and I've had for years and was hoping for some advice as to the type of adhesive to use to fix it back on. Any ideas?

The steel fits inside the handle a good inch-plus? In which case, these will be ideal mating surfaces.
Best adhesive? I guess I'd go between an industry-strength 'gel' type superglue, or else a thin coat of epoxy adhesive like 'Araldite'.
For the latter, with such a small quantity being required, you'd need to get the 50:50 proportions pretty accurate.
For both, make sure the hole is well clean.

I'd use either epoxi resin or some hybrid silicone adhesive - https://www.screwfix.com/c/sealants-adhesives/hybrid-sealants-adhesives/cat12310001
That said, if it sits tight without any play, I think superglue will do the job.

I would use this, if only because you do not have the faff of mixing two components, like with Araldite.
The only thing is that it expands, so best to use sparingly if the fitting is quite tight, as it will foam out of the end.

I was going to suggest Gorilla Glue as well. Sticks almost anything to anything.

I prefer Araldite as it now comes in a twin pack so you just squeeze out the amount you need ,mix together and job done.

If you have any ms polymer adeshive, in the tube, like silicone, I'd use that. Ct1 being the most obvious and probably best one.
Bonus it's waterproof, so if you get this wet or whatever it won't be an issue.

That's good stuff if you can keep the lids from sticking to the tubes. I did try some JB weld epoxy that was in a type of dual syringe rather than tubes.
Again, the small lid became really difficult to remove due to the adhesive and hardener starting to combine. Maybe Gorilla Glue as suggested if it's not a two part epoxy.

I've got a tube of Gorilla Glue contact adhesive in the cupboard, would that be any good?

To release the grip of caps on Araldite tubes, I pour some fairly hot water over the caps for a few seconds. This softens the adhesive/hardener in the threads and the caps can then be screwed off easily. Works every time for me.

It is not the strongest Gorilla Glue, but it might be good enough. So give it a try.
