removal costs

It’s been quite a few years since I last moved. What are people paying for removals now?

I’m based in West Midlands and moving 36 miles. Large 3 bed, 2 rec. I’ve already have storage close to the new property and will storing most of the kitchen ware and tools as new house needs new kitchen and shed.

I’ve had one quote just shy of £3k so far. I’m packing myself.

Get some more quotes I would expect you could beat that by up to £500. If you are going established main stream movers. Man with vans can be a lot cheaper but do your research well.

Unless you think you have a lot of goods more akin to a 4 bed house.

We moved a 2.5 bed house 5 miles with 2 vehicles and 5 men and we packed ourselves. This was 18 months ago, and we paid about £1,300. We had a main moving vehicle and a smaller vehicle for garden stuff. Think the highest quote we got was about £1,800.

We moved last month. For a mid sized 3 bed detached house in the East Midlands moving 2.5 miles and we packed ourselves, we paid £550 for two men and two vans.

We used a local company with excellent reviews and they were really very good.
